Awkward, a klutz, a lousy salesman, a disrespectful daughter; ask anyone who knows her and this is how they would describe telephone sales rep. L. Schnabel. Raised by her father, an Air Force mechanic, after her mother’s death, L never found anyone who believed in her until L met the love of her life, Mabel Mayville, an aspiring film student.
Enrolled in M.G.M.’s (Make Great Movies) six week internet film school Mabel decides the best way to build her new love’s confidence is to make her the subject of her thesis project. Mabel, along with her camera Michael, who is along only to see the two lesbians make out, embarks on a quest to help L find herself. She enrolls L in Tai Chi, follows her to work, and even arranges a disastrous reunion with L’s estranged father.
However, as L’s failures mount she finally finds the strength to take a chance on her own desires. Mabel watches as L literally takes a leap of faith jump from an airplane. In learning to fly on her own L finds the confidence to reconcile with her father, quit her boring job, and pursue her dreams of flight. |
